Hampton Roads in Va. Names Chief Risk Officer

Hampton Roads Bankshares in Virginia Beach has named John Marshall Jr. as chief risk officer. He succeeds Robert Bloxom, who retired from Hampton Roads at the end of September.

Marshall will also serve as an executive vice president at the $2 billion-asset bank. He most recently served as chief risk officer at the $822 million-asset Evans Bancorp in Buffalo.

Marshall has also previously worked at Bank of America and First Charter Bank, both headquartered in Charlotte. First Charter is now part of Fifth Third Bancorp in Cincinnati.

Hampton Roads is the parent company of Shore Bank and the Bank of Hampton Roads.
