Harris Renews Metavante Debit Services

Bank of Montreal's Harris Bank is to continue using debit services from Metavante Technologies Inc.'s NYCE unit.

Metavante, a Milwaukee banking technology vendor, announced on Monday the contract renewal with the $41 billion-asset Chicago banking unit of the Canadian banking company.

Harris is a longtime NYCE customer. Besides using the network as its primary carrier for debit and automated teller machine transactions, it also uses Metavante services for automated teller machine driving, card production and fulfillment, check imaging, prepaid card processing, and other payments tasks.

Harris operates 647 ATMs in the Midwest and has issued about 600,000 debit cards.
