Huntington Bank to Offer Customers Online Banking Security Software

Huntington Bancshares Inc. in Columbus, Ohio, has selected Trusteer Rapport and Trusteer Pinpoint to protect its commercial and retail banking customers from online fraud.

The $54.8 billion-asset Huntington National Bank, which serves customers in six Midwestern states, is offering Trusteer as a free download from its website, Jeff Dennes, senior vice president responsible for the company's online banking, said in a news release.

Trusteer has a cybercrime prevention network that spans hundreds of organizations and protects banks against threats that first target other, often larger Trusteer customers, Trusteer said on Tuesday.

Trusteer Rapport is said to prevent malware from exploiting browser and add-on vulnerabilities, installing itself on a device, capturing credentials and personal information entered in the browser and initiating fraudulent transactions or tampering with in-process transactions.
