Huntington, Security Bank Add Branches

Huntington Bancshares Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, and Security California Bancorp of Riverside, Calif., will add offices in the coming months.

Huntington Bank said Wednesday that it will open two new branches in Detroit and one in Pontiac, Mich., as part of an ongoing investment in the state. The first branch will open Oct. 31 in the Compuware building at Campus Martius in downtown Detroit. The other branches will open Dec. 5, which will bring the number of Huntington branches in southeast Michigan to 52.

The $53 billion-asset Huntington also said it will donate $5,000 to the Downtown Detroit Partnership to benefit Campus Martius Park. In June, Huntington pledged $2 billion in commercial and small business lending over four years for a public-private lending partnership with the state of Michigan and the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

Separately, the $359.4 million-asset Security Bank of California said late Tuesday that it will enter a new market by opening a loan production office in Irwindale, Calif., during the fourth quarter. Senior vice president Bill Schroeder will lead the Irwindale team.
