IBC Bank has upgraded its iPhone app to include new features like a Mexican peso to U.S. dollar currency converter for its tip calculating feature.
The bank's tip calculator was launched in 2010 and the change was part of an upgrade to the banking app in June after analytics revealed that many of its user downloads came from Mexico, the company said Friday.
The upgraded app also offers IBC Bank news, a branch location finder and IBC Bank YouTube videos. The bank also installed more robust analytics into the app. This allows IBC to see user geography, learn which functions are most used, the time spent on an app and the frequency of visits.
IBC Bank is part of International Bancshares (IBOC), an $11.8 billion-asset multi-bank holding company headquartered in Laredo, Texas.
