In Brief: Bankers Trust Appoints Japan Senior Officer

Bankers Trust Corp. has named Kazuo Yamada as managing director and senior country officer for Japan.

Mr. Yamada succeeds Masayuki Yasuoka, who is returning to Industrial Bank of Japan. Mr. Yamada has been with Bankers Trust for five years and is general manager of Bankers Trust Asia Securities Ltd. He held capital market and investment banking positions at Salomon Brothers and Dillon Read & Co. Mr. Yamada is a graduate of the University of Tokyo and received an MBA from the University of Chicago.

In a related move, Bankers Trust named Gary M. Talarico managing director and head of its investment banking activities in Japan. Mr. Talarico joins Bankers Trust from Lehman Brothers, where he spent over a decade working with major Japanese institutions.
