In Brief: Janus Upheaval Puts New CFO in Office

Janus Capital Group Inc., the Denver fund company that has been fighting outflows since the market bubble burst at the start of the decade, has named an executive recently hired from Charles Schwab Corp. to succeed its chief financial officer, who resigned.

David Martin, hired about a month ago to be Janus' executive vice president of finance, succeeds Loren Starr in the CFO post, the company said Wednesday night. Mr. Starr's departure was the latest upheaval in the top management ranks at Janus, which got a new chief executive officer, Steve Scheid, and president, Gary Black, in April 2004.
