In Brief: Lehman Picks Viant to Build a Web Site

BOSTON — Lehman Brothers has chosen Viant Corp., a maker of Internet business software, to build a Web site that lets investment bankers in its international division get and share information about customers.

The site, to be called eBanker, is to compile information about globally dispersed corporate, institutional, and government clients for the New York company. About 2,000 Lehman employees worldwide would use eBanker for day-to-day help in serving clients.

Viant, based in Boston, has 600 employees worldwide. Its customers include American Express Co., Allianz, Charles Schwab Corp., Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., and Prudential.
