Online Lender Enova Picks HSBC Alum as COO

The online lender Enova International has hired an ex-HSBC executive as its chief operating officer.

Greg Zeeman, 47, was named COO of the Chicago company Monday and will manage its products and business operations. Zeeman spent 15 years at HSBC, including a stint as COO of its HSBC USA unit, before becoming head of Main Street Renewal, a property management firm in Austin, Texas.

Enova was launched in 2004 as the online unit of Cash America International, one of the nation’s largest payday lenders. It was spun off as a separate, publicly traded company in November 2014.

In Enova's announcement Monday, Chief Executive David Fisher welcomed Zeeman's "deep global expertise" and "strong understanding of the financial services and banking industry."

Zeeman succeeds Arad Levertov, who resigned in May after six years at the company, according to regulatory filings. “We are excited to witness his next entrepreneurial project and thank him for all he has done to put Enova on such a great trajectory," Fisher said in the news release. A company spokeswoman declined to provide further detail the reason for Levertov's departure.
