  • As fans of temporary tattoos and non-permanent hair dye can attest, sometimes people want to try a new look without making a commitment. It was in that spirit of experimentation that PNC opened an orange-and-blue pop-up branch on the sidewalk of a busy Atlanta outdoor mall last summer.

  • The $298 billion-asset company will continue with its recent pattern of opening smaller branches in desired markets and closing some larger, traditional branches, resulting in roughly 25 net closures, PNC spokesman Fred Solomon said Wednesday.

A computer glitch at PNC Financial (PNC) last week delayed overnight processing for some customer transactions.

The glitch occurred overnight on Thursday, Jan. 2, affecting customers in markets including Louisville, Philadelphia, Northwest Pennsylvania, Northeast Pennsylvania and Delaware, according to PNC spokeswoman Marcey Zwiebel. Zwiebel said that she did not know how many PNC clients were impacted by the glitch.

PNC corrected the delayed transactions on Friday to reflect posting or payment dates of Thursday.

"All transactions from Friday have since been processed normally, so the issue is behind is," Zwiebel said in an email.
