A Chicago unit of Popular (BPOP) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has launched a business mobile app for iPhone and Android devices.

The app for Popular Community Bank has features for small and midsize business owners and their staff to manage finances virtually, the bank said Tuesday. Business customers can now check account balances, locate branches and ATMs, search recent account activity, pay vendors and others and transfer funds between accounts in real time with the app.
Popular Community launched its mobile banking platform in November 2010. The last update to the platform was mobile check deposit for consumer accounts. An app for this feature for business accounts is in development, the bank said.
