Sandy Spring Bancorp in Olney, Md., has appointed executives from the technology and legal industries to newly created seats on its board.

The $4.6 billion-asset bank on Wednesday appointed Mona Abutaleb, chief executive of tech outsourcing and cloud services provider mindSHIFT Technologies, and James Maiwurm, chairman emeritus and senior counsel at law firm Squire Patton Boggs. The company's board now totals 12 members.
