Unisys Corp. said it and Visa U.S.A. have developed a tool kit for financial institutions developing trials of the Visa Cash stored-value card.
Banc One Corp. of Columbus, Ohio, was said to be the first taker. It is conducting a pilot in company cafeterias.
The tool kit is designed to promote such in-house experiments, which can lead to broader programs involving external cardholders after three or four months, Visa said.
"By partnering with systems integrators such as Unisys, we provide a cost-effective way for our member banks to evaluate Visa Cash and to test new features as business needs dictate," said Diana Knox, vice president of stored-value products at Visa.
