SVPCO Adds Eastern Bank of Boston

The Clearing House Payments Co. LLC announced Monday that Eastern Bank Corp. of Boston had begun exchanging check images using the New York group's SVPCO Image Payments Network.

The Clearing House said the $7.3 billion-asset Eastern is the 44th financial institution conducting peer-to-peer image exchange on the SVPCO network.

Eastern is using the hosted SVPCO Gateway DTA, designed for lower-volume trading partners, which employs secure file transfer protocol to transmit images over the Internet for exchange with trading partners on the network, The Clearing House said.

Susan Long, a senior vice president at The Clearing House, said in the announcement, "We're pleased to welcome another bank to the network, and we are ready to help institutions of all sizes develop and implement a customized image exchange strategy."
