Technical Glitch Disrupted Wells Fargo Online Bill Pay

A number of Wells Fargo (WFC) customers experienced problems with their online bill payments late last month as a result of technical issues.

The glitches at a Wells Fargo vendor occurred on Nov. 22 and 25, according to a company spokesman. The company did not respond to questions about how many customers were affected and when it notified customers about the issue.

"We have worked directly with our customers and their billers to ensure that payments were applied as scheduled," the Wells spokesman said in an email. "Our customers are fully covered by our online payment guarantee and will not incur any late fees or late payment reporting as a result of this issue."

The Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday on the difficulties encountered by one customer who was impacted by the glitch.
