U.S. Bancorp is offering a new iPad app that will allow stores to offer instant credit to customers.
The app is currently being piloted with sporting goods retailer Sport Chalet. A store employee accesses the Sport Chalet Visa Credit Card application through the iPad then allows the customer to complete and submit it. If approved, the customer receives instant credit to begin making purchases, the Minneapolis company said Tuesday. The customer would later receive the credit card by mail.
The bank will also offer a U.S. Bank branded version of the iPad credit app at select branches during the second quarter.
