Financial technology firm Verdande is partnering with software company ITRS Group to improve its product for identifying and preventing system failures.
The two companies have combined their systems for preventing outages, they said Monday. Verdande's Edge Platform has been integrated with ITRS' application performance monitoring system, Geneos.
The combined platform is designed to prevent system failures and trading glitches like the one that nearly brought down Knight Capital last summer, the release says. Verdande's platform uses so-called case-based reasoning technology to identify and correct systems malfunctions.
"We saw the value of partnering with ITRS Group early on because Verdande Technology can immediately leverage the data ITRS already collects and analyze it in real time to offer an early warning system to firms using this type of software," Jo Kinsella, Verdande's chief executive for financial services, said in the news release.
