Richard A. McGinn, who was CEO of Lucent from 1997 to late 2000, joined VeriFone's board on Dec. 17. He also was chairman of Lucent's board from February 1998 to October 2007. He was previously on the board of directors at Oracle Corp. and is currently an American Express Co. director.
