Wider Access to FreedomPay

FreedomPay Inc. announced Friday that it is opening up its payment and transaction gateway to third-party developers.

The company, in Radnor, Pa., is allowing programmers to build off its FreeWay software service, which connects merchants to acquiring banks or processors.

"Developers of point of sale and dealer management systems now have a credit card security tool kit that addresses a significant portion of the [industry] requirements," Sam Bellamy, FreedomPay's chief innovation officer, said in a press release.

FreedomPay said the FreeWay software package is based on Level 4 transaction data, which goes a step further than most gateway operators and payments processors in the amount of information provided.
