Online PIN debit provider Acculynk now allows U.S. merchants to accept China UnionPay payments online.
U.S. e-commerce merchants looking to sell merchandise in China will be able to accept the Union Pay PIN debit cards through Acculynk's PaySecure International graphic PIN pad on their sites, Acculynk says in a Nov. 19 press release.
Airbnb, an online marketplace for booking trips around the world, will be the first U.S.-based merchant to leverage PaySecure International to support the more than 3 billion UnionPay PIN debit cardholders, Acculynk says.
Chinese customers can now use their UnionPay debit cards to secure accommodations at one of Airbnb's 300,000 listings worldwide.

"The ability to access billions of new customers is a game changer for growth-oriented merchants," Acculynk CEO Ashish Bahl states in a press release.
The new process creates "borderless" consumers who can purchase "what they want, when they want to," Bahl adds.
On the issuer side, Acculynk says the authentication process is tailored to the regulations and customs of each international market.
