Apriva Adds Globalcom to Parking, Kiosk Payment Systems

Apriva and Globalcom Engineering will partner to provide EMV hardware to various U.S. markets with unattended payments acceptance devices.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Apriva's payments gateway will integrate into Globalcom devices at parking lots, car washes, airline kiosks, vending machines, gaming devices and other retail settings.

"As the market continues to shift towards unattended payment terminals, we need solutions that address changing regulations such as EMV and provide customers a wide variety of payment options," Brian Sadowski, chief information officer at Apriva, stated in a July 17 press release.

Apriva, specializing in wireless end-to-end connections, completed a similar partnership last month with technology provider Amana McGann to offer EMV technology to parking systems across the U.S.

With the Globalcom partnership, the payment application operates within the hardware, reducing compliance scope with the Payment Card Industry data security standards and other rules, the company said.

Apriva's Integration Services Program allows software developers and vendors to implement credit payments, debit payments, electronic benefits transfers, loyalty and closed-loop payment processing into their solutions.

Apriva operates with more than 35 payment processors in North America, along with all leading wireless carriers. The company currently works with more than 1,000 merchant acquirers and ISOs across the U.S. and Canada.
