Chockstone And RBS Lynk Join Forces To Sell Loyalty Products

IMGCAP(1)]

Chockstone Inc. says it has signed an agreement with RBS Lynk, the U.S. payment-processing subsidiary of Royal Bank of Scotland Group, to sell loyalty services to RBS merchant-acquiring customers. The agreement calls for RBS to recommend Chockstone as a loyalty processor to its merchant customers, the company says. Chockstone, which is based in Portland, Ore., provides merchants loyalty products that enable consumers to register an existing credit, debit or prepaid card and earn rewards, Jeff Lipp, Chockstone president and CEO, tells CardLine. The company also offers products that enable merchants to base ad campaigns on profiles compiled through customer monitoring, he says. In a statement about the deal, Adil Moussa, an analyst with Boston-based Aite Group LLC, says the agreement would help RBS Lynk win customers among restaurants. "The [point-of-sale] delivery method that Chockstone has delivered to the market makes it easier for a merchant to put together loyalty campaigns that shape the consumer's behavior and deliver the messaging onto the customer's receipt," Moussa says. Some 46,000 merchant locations nationwide use Chockstone's services, the company says. RBS handles merchant acquiring at more than 130,000 locations, according to SourceMedia estimates.
