Diebold Nixdorf fills three exec positions

Following the departure last year of several top executives amid downward pressure on earnings, Diebold Nixdorf has named three people to fill its executive ranks.

Jeffrey Rutherford, who joined Diebold last year as interim chief financial officer, will assume that role on a permanent basis, according to a Friday press release.

Diebold has also hired Julian Sparkes as senior vice president and chief digital officer; and Hermann Wimmer as senior vice president of global retail, the release said.

Rutherford comes to Diebold from Edgewater Technology, where he was CFO. He previously held the same title at several other firms including Ferro Corp. and Office Max.

Sparkes, who most recently worked at PRGX Global as an executive in big-data analytics, previously held executive roles at IBM and Accenture. At Diebold, he will be responsible for streamlining and further digitizing the company’s IT infrastructure, according to the release.

Wimmer, who was previously chief revenue officer at digital identity company ForgeRock, will be in charge of Diebold’s retail strategy and operations, including business development. Prior to working at ForgeRock, he held various executive positions at NCR and Teradata, the release said.
