Fintech startup APEXX lands former WorldPay executive to head sales

APEXX Fintech Ltd. has appointed former WorldPay executive Toreson Lloyd as its sales director.

Lloyd brings more than seven years experience in the payments industry, as an acquiring specialist and enterprise customer account manager.

Lloyd was a vice president of relationship management at WorldPay and a business development manager at American Express before joining London-based APEXX, a startup payments-as-a-service platform provider.

“It’s hugely exciting to join such an ambitious company at this early stage," Lloyd said in a May 5 press release. "I believe APEXX has the potential to massively disrupt the global payments market for the better, and I find the company’s mission of introducing more transparency and competition into the global payments market hugely inspiring.”

APEXX says Lloyd's experience in cross-border e-commerce and the airlines/travel sector will help the company sign up its first customers in that sector.

The company launched a new platform last month that lets merchants access a single marketplace of all acquirers and payment providers and quickly integrate with their technology.

It also announced new international partners, including Alipay, iZettle, Mastercard, NTT DATA, Visa iPay88, Payvision, Credorax, SIX payment services, Paysafe Group, Processing.Com, Transact Europe, CardStream and JetPay.
