Frankfurt-based B+S Card Service, part of the German Savings Bank Finance Group, says its ability to accept China UnionPay card payments will help UK merchants prepare for an expected increase in Chinese visitors because of simplified travel visa laws taking hold next month.

“For UK merchants to capitalize on this anticipated growth market, they need to be able to accept the 2 billion issued China UnionPay cards,” Andreas Stendera, director of sales for B+S, states in a March 11 press release.

The B+S services help merchants prepare to “adapt their practices to create the flexibility that is required for their evolving international customer base,” Stendera says.

In addition to China UnionPay acceptance, B+S says it offers cross-border international payment processing, which includes multi-currency settlement that offers merchants payment in native currency as well as the U.S. dollar, the Japanese yen and the euro.

B+S acquires for MasterCard, Visa, Diners Club/Discover, Japan Credit Bureau and China UnionPay, as well as for debit cards such as girocard, Maestro and VPay.
