Global Payments and mobile operator 1O1O have launched a mobile point of sale service in Hong Kong.
The technology will allow merchants to use their tablet or smartphone to accept Visa, MasterCard and JCB card payments away from traditional countertop sales environments. Merchants can register for the service at a limited number of 1O1O Centres in Hong Kong.
Merchants accept payments using an EMV certified card reader that connects to an iOS or Android device.
