Ingenico Invests $6.5m In Roam Data

Ingenico S.A. has invested $6.5 million in Roam Data Inc., which makes mobile-device payment software, the France-based payment-terminal maker announced Tuesday. Boston-based Roam Data's software enables companies to create a payment application customers can use on different mobile phones regardless of the phone's underlying operating system. Potential merchants using Roam Data-enabled devices include outdoor vendors, plumbers and direct sellers, such as Avon Products Inc. representatives, says Ingenico.
