Consumers in Macao held nearly 337,000 credit cards as of 30 June, down 3.4% from 349,000 cards at the same time last year, according to the Monetary Authority of Macao, a regulatory agency. Credit card spending limits decreased 2.3%, to 6.3 billion patacas (US$788.9 million or 538.2 million euros) as of 30 June from 6.16 billion patacas for the same period a year ago. Credit card receivables increased 16.7%, to 1.05 billion patacas from 900 million patacas a year ago.
