Atlanta-based software provider Oversight Systems is working with Mastercard on a solution to help federal agencies ensure U.S. government spending on purchasing cards and other expenses are in compliance with policies.
Oversight will align its data analytics and fraud-prevention tools with Mastercard for commercial card payment programs within the General Service Administration’s (GSA) SmartPay program to identify suspicious purchases and detect potential fraud faster, the companies said in a Jan. 25 press release.
“Mastercard found a unique way to team with Oversight and provide federal agencies with visibility into spending, compliance and expense reconciliation across our Mastercard-branded commercial card portfolios,” said Eugene DeSilva, Mastercard’s senior vice president of commercial products for North America, in the release.
The GSA SmartPay program enables federal agencies to obtain purchase, travel, fleet and integrated charge card products through contracts with various financial institutions, the release said.
