MasterCard has begun offering U.S. merchants and developers Simplify Commerce, a product of MasterCard labs, the Purchase, N.Y. card network's research and development lab.
Simplify Commerce allows users to quickly start accepting e-commerce and mobile payments.
"We recognize the value that electronic payments bring to merchants, both large and small," says Garry Lyons, chief innovation officer for MasterCard, in a June 27 press release. "By offering straightforward integration tools to developers and streamlining the process for businesses to get a merchant account, Simplify Commerce makes it easy for merchants to deliver online and mobile payments experiences to their customers."
MasterCard launched the product for small merchants who do not always have the resources to establish payments acceptance on their website. Simplify Commerce works with MasterCard and other payment brands.
MasterCard is also offering application programming interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs) for developers to include Simplify Commerce in their offerings to merchants. The APIs and SDKs are available in a number of programming languages, including Python, Java and Ruby. MasterCard also offers SDKs for the iOS and Android mobile operating systems.
