ATMs in some key Las Vegas locations will allow consumers to obtain U.S. dollars with foreign payment cards through Monex Financial Services' dynamic currency conversion technology.
Kerry, Ireland-based Monex is partnering with its U.S. processing partner, ATM technology provider Switch Commerce, to enable currency conversion on units located at the Las Vegas Boulevard, MGM Grand Casino and major shopping districts.
Irving, Texas-based Switch Commerce delivers ATM management software for ATM networks and independent ATM deployers. The company's terminal management software offers full control of an ATM portfolio from any personal computer, smartphone or tablet.
Monex provides currency conversion on networks in Europe and the Americas totaling more than 65,000 ATMs, the release said. The company makes its software available for transaction processors, acquirers, ATM networks, large merchants and various other payment companies.
A consumer using a foreign card at the ATMs in Las Vegas with dynamic currency conversion can select the currency from an onscreen option and receive U.S. dollars. The cardholder's funds are debited in the account's native currency.
