Pinterest Integrates with Three More E-Commerce Platforms

Pinterest is expanding its ‘Buyable Pin’ function to three more e-commerce software providers.

The button allows merchants to combine product data, including prices, with visual postings.  Pinterest, which already supported Shopify and Demandware, has opened the tool to businesses that use systems from Bigcommerce, Magento and IBM Commerce.

New merchants, including Wayfair, Steven Alan and Bloomingdale’s, have also joined the system, which the company says now extends to 60 million Buyable Pins, according to an Oct. 5 blog post on Pinterest's website.

Other social networks have opened up to partnerships with e-commerce platforms this year.  Last week, Twitter announced that it would make its buy buttons compatible with Bigcommerce, Shopify and Demandware. Bigcommerce also announced a deal this week to integrate with Square's product catalog.
