Plynk, Jumio partner for ID verification

London-based Jumio has partnered with Plynk, a consumer messaging app available to consumers in Europe, for verifying new customers’ identities during the onboarding process.

When a new user signs up for a Plynk account, Jumio’s Netverify service will ask to snap a photo of their government-issued identification card, while Jumio initiates a biometric facial scan tracks the user’s eyeball movements to verify the applicant is a live person who matches the one on the identification document, Jumio said in a Wednesday press release.

Dublin-based Plynk launched in January 2017 in Ireland and the app is now expanding to Spain and Portugal, with the goal of becoming a dominant P-to-P service across Europe.

Jumio’s service supports analysis of identity documents from 200 countries.
