Sellers can send invoices for free, and are charged 2.75% when they receive payment. Sellers can track invoices and other Square payments through a web dashboard.

"We are intensely busy and don't have time to track people down for payment," says Franco Salerno, owner of Darianna Bridal in Warrington, Pa., in a June 5 press release. "Square makes it as easy as sending an email. I love being able to use our item library to easily input what a customer bought, and I especially love the ability to duplicate invoices because we often send several at a time for the same amounts."

Square has been aggressively adding new merchant services to evolve beyond basic card acceptance gain a greater share of its customers' business, and in some cases add revenue from fees.

It recently launched the lending service Square Capital, an interactive receipt called Square Feedback and order-ahead services called Square Pickup and Square Order.
