SUM Selective, the surcharge-free ATM network owned by NYCE Payments Network LLC, last week signed an agreement with Select-A-Branch ATM Network LLC that expands the number of surcharge-free ATMs which SUM customers can access. SUM Selective, based in Secaucus, N.J., allows cardholders of member banks and credit unions to withdraw funds surcharge-free from participating ATMs. According to the agreement, Select-A-Branch, a surcharge-free ATM network based in King of Prussia, Pa., will first implement SUM Selective's ATM program in its ATM network in the Northeastern United States. Select-A-Branch has installed 15 ATMs in the region, but 396 additional locations are planned, according to its Web site. The SUM ATM network is compromised of 2,900 machines nationwide, says its Web site. Financial institutions join Select-A-Branch, and when the bank or credit union members insert their card into a Select-A-Branch ATM to withdraw cash, the logo of the cardholder's financial institution appears on the ATM screen. As part of its agreement with SUM, Select-A-Branch ATMs will display SUM advertisements when SUM members use the machines, both companies said.
