The arrangement with Logista, a European payments technology company focused on the tobacco and confections industries, will boost the availability of Ukash vouchers to more than 46,000 terminals in Spain, Ukash said in a Sept. 29 press release.

Consumers in Spain will be able to purchase Ukash voucher codes in denominations from 10 to 250 euros ($370 U.S.) at the many convenience stores in which Logista manages the POS terminals.

After purchasing a Ukash voucher, consumers use the 19-digit Ukash code to make purchases online. Ukash vouchers provide a safe alternative to using a bank account or credit card online, Ukash said. In addition to using the 19-digit code for e-commerce payments, consumers also have the option to load the vouchers onto prepaid cards or e-wallets.

"This partnership further strengthens our presence in Spain, reinforcing our reputation as a flexible payment provider in Spain," Miranda McLean, marketing director for Ukash, said in the release.

Logista's network of terminals serving small convenience stores enables Ukash to serve more shoppers in Spain, McLean added.

Over the past four months, London-based Ukash completed similar expansions in Saudi Arabia with Numny, and Australia with Touch Network.
