
Vivotech, Monitise To Deliver NFC Mobile Payments In The U.S.
Vivotech Inc. and Monitise PLC have formed a partnership to bring mobile-payment services to banks within the United States, London-based Monitise said last week.
Their service, designed to enable consumers to turn their handsets into a mobile wallets linked to their bank accounts and credit and debit cards, will use contactless technology delivered through the combination of Vivotech’s over-the-air software and Monitise’s mobile-money software, Monitise says.
Through Santa Clara, Calif.-based Vivotech’s software, mobile-phone providers and issuers may remotely load credit, debit or prepaid card information into a secure chip placed in an NFC-enabled mobile phone, a SIM card or into a MicroSD card, the company notes in a news release.
Monitise and Vivotech did not say when the service will be available.
Newtek Business Services Now Charge Anywhere Distributor
Newtek Business Services Inc., a merchant-services company, has become a member of Charge Anywhere LLC’s certified distributor program, South Plainfield, N.J.-based Charge Anywhere announced last week.
In addition to access to numerous wireless point-of-sale products offered by Charge Anywhere, New York-based Newtek also now has access to training and marketing support.
Intuit Certifies RDM POS Terminal
RDM Corp., a Waterloo, Ontario-based payment-terminal company, says Intuit Payment Solutions, a
division of Intuit Inc., has certified RDM’s Synergy II payment terminal for use on Intuit’s National Check Deposit Network check-processing system.
Voltage Signs Up ClickandBuy
Voltage Security Inc. says online payment provider ClickandBuy International Ltd. plans to use its system to protect payment data.
ClickandBuy, of London, says it would use technology from Voltage to meet the requirements of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, which describes how companies should protect and handle payment data.
