Wincor Nixdorf AG has signed a contract to sell point-of-sale terminals to Shell International Petroleum service stations, Pia-Maria Goerner, a spokesperson for the Germany-based company, tells ATM&Debit News, a CardLine Global sister publication. Wincor Nixdorf, which is based in Germany, and Shell International, an affiliate of Royal Dutch Shell Group, announced their agreement Monday. The agreement follows a deal earlier this year in which Wincor Nixdorf agreed to supply point-of-sale software to Shell International, Goemer says. Wincor Nixdorf did not disclose details about the sale, including how many service stations will receive the terminals. Shell, which will deploy the payment terminals over the next five years, awarded Wincor Nixdorf the contract following a nine-month selection process.
