MasterCard and Visa have already certified WorldPay, which is currently working with Discover to receive that network's EMV certification as well. WorldPay has also partnered with Discover to enable PayPal payments at the point of sale.

"By taking this necessary step toward EMV chip-card acceptance we are strengthening our ability to help customers protect their business—and their customers—from the potentially devastating effects of card fraud," says Tony Catalfano, president and CEO of WorldPay US, in an Oct. 29 press release.

WorldPay has also contracted with VeriFone to support NFC and EMV capabilities at the point of sale.
