Cullen/Frost Chief Executive Hands Off Job To Chairman

Cullen/Frost Bankers Inc., San Antonio, said chairman Dick Evans had also been named chief executive officer, succeeding T.C. Frost.

Mr. Frost, who turned 70 on Oct. 29, remains senior chairman.

Mr. Evans, 51, joined the company in 1971. He was named president and CEO of Frost Bank, its principal subsidiary, in 1985, and chairman of the unit in 1993.

He became Cullen/Frost's chief banking officer in 1994 and a year later was named chairman as well as chief operating officer-a title he has now relinquished.
