JPMorgan Chase (JPM) is now offering mobile banking features to users of its prepaid card, Liquid.

Liquid cardholders can download the Chase Mobile app and use features such as viewing account balances and transaction history, transferring money to a Liquid card and receiving alerts for low account balances, the New York company said Monday. Customers can also add funds with remote deposit capture.

"Chase Mobile fits with today's lifestyle, helping Chase Liquid customers manage their financial lives through their mobile device," Jack Stephenson, Chase's managing director of mobile, ecommerce and payments, said in a news release.

The reloadable Liquid card was launched in June and has a monthly fee of $4.95. JPMorgan has promoted the card as an alternative to a traditional checking account, though some of its terms make it more of a complement to one.
