Mobile payments provider PaymentOne Corp. said Tuesday that it is supporting the HTML5 standard and is offering the PayOne HTML5 API.

The PayOne HTML5 API provides an HTML5 compliant Web-based payment flow for developers of mobile games and applications looking to monetize their offerings across different platforms and devices, the company, which is based in San Jose, Calif., said.

Game developers who previously had to choose a platform and device on which to develop their game can now create their games in HTML5. This allows the game to be played within the browser on different devices. With its support of HTML5, PaymentOne allows developers to offer in-app mobile web payments where gamers can place their purchases directly on their mobile phone bills.
