A newly formed Bangladeshi bank has begun using Temenos' core banking software.

South Bangla Agriculture & Commerce Bank has gone live with the T24 system, two months after signing with Temenos, the Geneva, Switzerland-based financial technology firm said Monday. South Bangla is the fifth Bangladeshi bank to implement Temenos' platform, it said.

"The speed in which we have reached go-live is testament to Temenos' experience and capabilities and vindicates one of the many reasons for which we chose T24 as our software platform," S.M. Amjad Hossain, South Bangla Agriculture & Commerce Bank chairman, said in the news release. "Our aim is to be the leading bank in Bangladesh and, with the support of Temenos, we believe we can achieve this."

South Bangla Agriculture & Commerce Bank is one of nine banks to be established in Bangladesh in 2013, as government policies aim to expand banking access.
