Barclays PLC (Barclays) will give London cash machines a makeover designed to honor the Pride in London lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender festival next month.
The plan is to turn a number of Barclays' cash machines along the route of the Pride parade in central London into GAYTMs, the $67.3 billion-asset bank said in a press release.
Barclays has been a sponsor of the annual week-long event for three years, starting in 2012 when the bank launched a mobile application specifically designed for staff interested in LGBT issues.
This year Barclays will also activate its popular Pingit mobile app to enable users to donate to the event through "Ping for Pride" using their mobile phone to transfer the money. In addition, the bank is offering contactless Barclaycard paybands in advance of the festival, which participants will be able to use during the event to pay for drinks and food.
The bank is also pledging its support for International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia by showing images of members of the LGBT community and its rainbow symbols in all of Barclays 3,400 ATMs on May 17.
