U.S. Bank Offers Small-Biz Expense Reporting Tool for Consumers

U.S. Bank is making a small-business online payment management system available to consumers.

Called ScoreBoard, it provides trending and reporting data that allows consumers to monitor their own credit and debit transactions and compare that spending to trends in the general population. Payments are broken out by categories such as travel, home improvement and gas.

ScoreBoard is available to the Minneapolis-based bank's cardholders for free, and can be accessed through internet banking.

Small businesses have traditionally used this type of product to monitor corporate spending and procurement.

U.S. Bank has repurposed or resurrected several technology ideas in the past year to address changing consumer demands following the introduction of Apple Pay and the growth of connected devices.

The bank's projects focus on wearable computing, digital watermarks and voice recognition.
