Christian Community Credit Union taps COO as interim chief executive

Marji Hughes was named interim CEO of Christian Community Credit Union in San Dimas, Calif.

Prior to this appointment, Hughes served as chief operating officer, the $663 million-asset credit union said in a press release on Wednesday. She has held leadership roles across the industry for more than 27 years, including positions in operations, loan administration, member services and IT.

Doug Martinez, the institution's previous CEO, resigned in December.

“Marji brings great experience and expertise to this role,” Mike Pate, board chair, said in the press release. “She has my deepest gratitude and confidence in overseeing and leading the Credit Union as we determine who will be our future CEO.”

The board has hired Carter Baldwin to complete a nationwide search for a permanent CEO.
