CU Direct had initially planned to award $20,000 to two CMN hospitals receiving the most votes, but after an overwhelming response and a surprise offer to match donations, five CMN facilities will be receiving a total of $60,000.

The hospitals and the amounts they will receive are:

1st place ($20,000): Primary Children's Hospital, Salt Lake City.

2nd place ($20,000): Hurley Children's Hospital, Flint-Saginaw-Bay City, Mich.

3rd place ($5,000): Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, Ind.

4th place ($5,000): OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Portland, Ore.

5th place ($5,000): McLane Children's Scott & White, Waco-Temple-Bryan, Texas.

6th place ($5,000): Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Hartford & New Haven, Conn.

The $20,000 matching donation to Hurley Children's Hospital was provided by Dr. Alan Klein, a pediatric dentist on staff at the hospital.

The campaign was launched on "Giving Tuesday," Dec. 2, and garnered more than 80,000 votes for CMN hospitals across the country. CU Direct thanked all those who voted and helped make the event a success.

CU Direct has worked for much of the past decade to help CMN, including sponsoring the annual Credit Unions for Kids Wine Auction, which benefits CMN hospitals in California and Nevada, and has raised more than $2.6 million since 2006.
