AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Genisys Credit Union, which provides services to anyone who lives or works in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, on Tuesday reported it successfully completed a system conversion to finalize the consolidation of Tri-Pointe Community Credit Union.
Prior to the merger, Tri-Pointe was a $200 million-asset CU based in Grand Blanc, Mich. It served nearly 25,000 members through five branches. The now-combined credit union, operating under the Genisys CU name, has assets totaling nearly $2 billion and serves more than 177,000 members.
With this combination, Genisys becomes one of the largest credit unions in Michigan. Its members now have access to 29 branches, 26 of which are located in Michigan.
The two CUs said no jobs were lost as a result of the merger, and employees continue to receive "competitive" compensation and benefits.
"I am very proud of the effort and collaboration of the Genisys team in bringing this important transition to a successful close," Jackie Buchanan, president and CEO of Genisys Credit Union, said in a prepared statement. "The members who join Genisys from the former Tri-Pointe Community Credit Union have gained an expanded branch network, access to a nationwide shared branch network, new online and mobile banking options, call center service, and additional products such as debit card rewards, mobile bill payment and mobile deposit."
"I also wish to thank our members for their cooperation during this transition. We value them and look forward to providing them with outstanding financial products and services," added Buchanan.
