Greenbelt FCU lands replacement for retiring CEO

David Muse has been named the next CEO of Greenbelt Federal Credit Union in Maryland, effective Oct. 15.

Muse takes over for CEO Cynthia A. Comproni, who announced plans last month to retire. The CEO search was conducted by Credit Union Resources, a division of the Cornerstone Credit Union League.

The $32 million-asset Greenbelt will be Muse’s first CEO position. He served most recently as chief operating officer and BSA compliance officer at Department of Labor Federal Credit Union. In his three years in that role, he led branch operations and oversaw lending, marketing, vendor management and more.

Prior to his time at Labor, Muse worked extensively at banks, including Capital One, Wells Fargo and SunTrust.

Greenbelt FCU’s earned nearly $193,000 for the first half of 2019, more than double its income during the same period last year, according to call reports. That was driven in part by a 15% lift in mortgage lending.
