BETTENDORF, Iowa – Ascentra CU has completed its merger with Members Choice Community CU in Clinton to create one of the largest credit unions in the state, with $245 million in assets.
The combined credit union will be known as Ascentra CU and serve almost 30,000 members.
Paul Lensmeyer, Ascentra's chief executive officer, will serve as CEO and Becky Hansen, the CEO of Members Choice, as executive vice president.
Ascentra, formerly Alcoa Employees & Community CU, has branches in Bettendorf, Moline and Muscatine, Iowa, and two in Davenport. Members Choice, which traces its roots to Clinco Community CU, has two branches in Clinton and one in LeClaire, Iowa.
